So what's going on is that my mother and I don't get a lot (AT ALL) and I know you and your mother may not either and you're thinking, oh everyone goes though this and you're just being dramatic, I AM. But for good reason, my mum is actually quite ill, and this makes her more of a bitch, making me more of one, and it just escalates. It's terrible so I decided for the benefit of both her and I; moving out would be the solution.
Drastic?  Yes, I've planned to do this for about a year now, and I finally did it. I'm nearly graduated and I'll be on my way to university soon enough so I won't be with my host family long, but I do enjoy it here.
I moved in with a close friend of mine and we get along quite well, I'm actually a little shocked, because we use to go out (and there was a very awkward breakup) but his family and him have always felt very close to me.
They were extraordinarily kind to me, always, and were so warm and welcoming and offered me a home with them. They converted the office into a bedroom for me, let me paint the walls bright yellow and even bought me a bed. Too kind.
This whole experience has changed me, I feel so relaxed here, and it's wonderful. I'm happy to finally be able to relax in a place that feels like home, unlike where I was.
IN ADDITION, where I use to live my mother strongly disliked the one we will call Cecil. They thought him a bad person, without even meeting him, so clearly telling them "oh and by the way I'm going out with him" would end very badly, so I had to keep him a secret. I didn't enjoy this in the least. We hardly saw each other and it was really no good at all. Now that I like here I have him over weekdays and we play videogames and hang out and... Well we feel like we're going out now. It's really nice, I couldn't ask for anything more. He's so good to me.
Of course, living here has its ups and its downs, I can't get a job for the life of me, and it's really pressuring me, because I feel guilty about it. Also, I accidentally walked in on my older brother (my ex) watching porn and jacking off in the middle of the night, and my little sister walked in on me changing; but other than that...
Well let's just say, dry heaving for three hours and getting scared out of your skin are worth it for the kind of place I get to live in now.
